On February 24, 2010, the Octagon has prepared a custom menu that complements the wines of the local vitner, Jonathan Edwards, who will be in attendance to speak about his wines. The dinner starts with a reception at 6:30 pm featuring The Estate grown Gewurztraminer and some delectable Hors d oeuvres. After the reception, sit in the elegant dining room and sample a warm porcini mushroom salad with lobster sauce paired with both the Connecticut and Napa Valley Chardonnay. This will be followed by marinated duck and grape must with their 2007 Napa Valley Merlot. For the main course, the chef has selected one of Octagon's top selling steaks, the prime Copper ridge to go with the 2006 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. To cap the evening we have the coveted "Dark" from the the Sierra Foothills and an Ibarra Chocolate and Fig cake with smoked Chile caramel. |
